Holistic Counsellor

Meet Your Anxiety Counsellor from Brisbane

Rachael Greany

Rachael works with people who live with anxiety that never really lets up. The worry, the overthinking, the feeling of being on alert when there's no real threat. She helps people who know something needs to change but haven't been able to think their way out of it.

She's a qualified holistic counsellor in Brisbane, and her work gets to the root of anxiety instead of just managing it. Sessions are online by Zoom and open to clients across Brisbane and Australia. She brings real warmth and proper training to every one.

How Do I Know If I Have Anxiety?

Anxiety shows up differently for everyone. If a few of these feel familiar, you're not alone, and they can ease.

✓ Worry you can't switch off, even when nothing's wrong

✓ A racing heart, tight chest, or shortness of breath

✓ Racing thoughts, or a mind that won't slow down

✓ Trouble falling asleep or staying asleep

✓ Feeling restless, on edge, or unable to settle

✓ Trouble concentrating, or a foggy, distracted mind

✓ Tense muscles, headaches, or a churning stomach

✓ Feeling irritable, drained, or quick to snap

What To Expect from Online Anxiety Counselling?

Here's how it actually works. Sessions run for 90 minutes over Zoom, so you take part from home, or wherever you feel safe. There's no script and nothing to prepare. You talk, Rachael listens, and together you look at what sits underneath the anxiety.

Most approaches teach you to manage symptoms. This one goes further. Through a gentle, guided process, Rachael helps you get back to where the anxiety started and settle it there. You stay fully aware and in control the whole time, and you won't be asked to relive anything in detail. Most people feel calmer in the first session, with bigger changes landing over the following weeks.

How Online Anxiety Counselling Can Help

Anxiety is exhausting. The aim here isn't just to take the edge off. It's to help your nervous system feel safe again. People who work with Rachael often notice the constant worry quietens down, the physical symptoms ease, sleep gets easier, and the situations that used to feel impossible start to feel manageable. Because the work deals with the cause rather than the surface, the results tend to hold.

Getting Started

Where Rachael works

Rachael is based in regional Southeast Queensland and works
with clients across Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast
and the wider state, as well as further afield, including the US,
New Zealand and Japan. All sessions are held online, so where you are doesn't limit whether you can work together.

Why online, not in a room

This isn't a compromise, it's deliberate. Clients do sessions
from their own couch or bed, somewhere their nervous system
already recognises as safe. And because this work can leave you
tearful afterwards, you're not walking out to a car park and
driving home. You're already where you need to be.

What it costs

Your first 20-minute consultation is free, with no obligation.
Session fees are discussed on that call so you know exactly what
you're deciding about before you book anything.

As a holistic counsellor rather than a registered psychologist,
Rachael's sessions aren't covered by Medicare. The trade-off: no
referral, no waitlist, and no diagnosis required to begin.

What's said stays private

What you share in session stays confidential, within the standard
professional and legal limits, which Rachael explains at the start of your first session so there are no surprises.

Frequently asked questions

How does online anxiety counselling work?

You meet Rachael over a secure Zoom call, usually from home. Each session runs 90 minutes and follows a gentle, guided process. All you need is a private spot, a decent internet connection, and a phone, laptop, or tablet.

Is online counselling for anxiety as good as seeing someone in person?

For anxiety, online often works better. You're in your own space, with no clinic to get to and no waiting room to sit in, so it's easier to relax and open up. You stay fully present and in control, and most people find it feels just as personal as being in the room.

Can counselling help my anxiety, or do I need medication?

Counselling and medication do different things, and one doesn't rule out the other. Whether medication is right for you is a decision for your GP or psychiatrist. Counselling focuses on what's driving the anxiety underneath, and Rachael's approach works at that root rather than just easing symptoms. Some people use counselling on its own, others alongside other support.

What kinds of anxiety can it help with?

Everyday anxiety in its many forms: ongoing worry and overthinking, social anxiety, health anxiety, panic-type symptoms, and that burnt-out, can't-switch-off feeling. If your anxiety is severe or complex, see a GP or psychologist first for proper diagnosis. Root-cause counselling can work alongside that care.

How many sessions will I need?

Most people see real change in three to six sessions. Some come for one specific thing, others stay a bit longer. There's no lock-in and no set package, so you choose as you go.

Ready to begin?

Your first step
costs nothing

If old experiences still shape how you feel, react, or cope, you don't have to stay
stuck there. Book a free 20-minute Zoom call. Share as much or as little as you
like, ask anything, and see whether it feels like the right fit. No pressure, and
you're in control the whole way.
